After the successful programs held in past years, CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, which is organised between 6th and 22nd October 2017, has again selected Pesti Vigadó to host some Festival events. Here is a brief appetiser.

Thanks to their invited guests from the Karachay, Balkar, Nogais, Bashkir and Kumyks people, the performance of Fonó Folk Band presents the parallels between Hungarian folk music and the musical folklore of the Turkic Kipchak people. The concert by the Hungarian National Choir features outstanding actors and actresses, who, joined by the Choir, recite poetry by Hungarian poets László Nagy, Sándor Weöres and János Pilinszky. This year again, Pesti Vigadó's Ceremonial Hall will host concerts by the 2017 winners of international piano competitions. The latest Hungarian winner of one of the most prestigious France-based piano competitions ‘Concours International de Piano d'Île-de-France' Balázs Demény will play compositions by Bartók, Haydn, Kurtág and Ligeti, while Hungarian winner of the main prize of the Montreal International Piano Competition Zoltán Fejérvári will play pieces by Bartók, Beethoven and Schumann.
