Concert

Location: Sinkovits Imre Chamber Theatre

BonBon Quintet: Jack and Jill

BonBon Matiné’s performance

Everybody is familiar with the Grimm Brothers’ tale entitled Jack and Jill! This universal story about the mutual love and keeping together of the resourceful sister and brother is now presented in a never-before experienced way! Contemporary composer Ilona Meskó, who is a very versatile artist and has received numerous awards in diverse ends of the world, and Győző Lukácsházi, who has been, for several decades, one of the most well-known and most acclaimed Hungarian representatives of the popularisation of music, have jointly written a musical fairy tale for children. Featuring an immense amount of humour, the performance reveals a new perspective of the well-known story: it introduces children, in an almost unnoticeable way, to the apparently scary world of “contemporary music” and, through it, to the realm of classical music. In a very exceptional manner, graphic artist Eszter Kiskovács illustrates the concert live, adapting her illustrations to the actual music. This gives the audience the opportunity to not only hear but also to actually see the story of Jack and Jill come alive, and all this is interpreted musically by the most outstanding artists of the Hungarian National Radio and Budapest Festival Orchestra.
