The San Jose Youth Symphony from California

Founded six decades ago as part of the former San Jose Symphony, and has a rich tradition of musical performance and education.

The San Jose Youth Symphony from California is one of the oldest and finest youth orchestras in the West Coast of the United States.

This summer the orchestra embarks on its International Concert Tour to Croatia, Austria and Hungary with four performances in the top musical venues of the world, including Vigadó Concert Hall in Budapest.

The Music Director and conductor of the orchestra Mr. Yair Samet enjoys a widespread international career spanning three continents.

He was born in Jerusalem and attended the Rubin Academy Music Conservatory and High School of Music and Arts where he studied piano and bassoon, and was invited as the institution’s youngest student to join the composition department under the guidance of internationally renowned composer Mark Kopytman. He was nominated Music Director and Conductor of the San José Youth Symphony in 1994.
