Pesti Vigadó's Children's Season Ticket Program Series ‘Merriment in Vigarda' Enjoys Great Success2017. March 20.
Children immense enjoyed all of the performances staged in the scope of Children's Season Ticket Program Series ‘Merriment in Vigarda', organised for the first time in the 2016-2017 season.
We asked children and the adults accompanying them to tell us what experiences they gathered and how they felt during the shows.
On 16th November 2016, Pesti Vigadó launched its own Children's Season Ticket Program Series entitled ‘Merriment in Vigarda'. The first performance in the series, given by Eszter Kárász and Eszter-lánc Children's Tale Band, was a concert entitled ‘Once Upon a Time', which incorporated music and children's tales. In the scope of the series, season ticket holders and others with regular tickets could see Veronaki Band's performance entitled 'Gőgös Gúnár Gedeon (The Great Gander called Gavin)' in December 2016 and Fitos Dezső Company's show entitled ‘Secrets in the Box' in February 2017. By looking at the kindergarteners' and lower primary school students' faces after the performances – while they were walking on the corridors or waiting in front of the cloakroom –, one could sense and feel that the programs fully engaged them and proved to be unforgettable experiences for them. Now that the Series is over, we have asked children and the adults accompanying them to tell us what experiences they have gathered and how much they liked the shows so that others can also read about the programs and possibly be prompted to visit one of the events in the future.
"I liked the show because it was very funny and really good."
"I liked it when they started to act like clowns and started ‘pushing one another'."
"The best scene was when the old lady started to sing ‘honey–honey–honey'."
"I liked it when they did not move, and they turned into stone."
"It was very funny when the lady wanted to hand over a hippopotamus."
"What I liked the most was when the lady mixed up the animals."
"The best scene was when the clown held an umbrella and suddenly colourful ‘thingies' came down."
"The music was very good and I liked the sound effects. The projected images were also great!"
And what did those think who accompanied the children? The following letter describes this.
"We are grateful for the opportunity that we could see these really great and quality performances in Pesti Vigadó. Both the adults and the children liked the shows a lot. As a kindergarten teacher, I was very glad to see that children were interested, were having fun, were laughing a lot and were truly happy. All of us were overwhelmed by these experiences during and after each of the three shows. I and the kindergarteners kept on talking about the performances, we sang the songs we learnt at the shows and we often spoke about our experiences again and again. The building of Pesti Vigadó is strikingly beautiful, the kindergarteners just call it the ‘Golden Palace'."
After this promising start and such warm reception, the Children's Season Ticket Program Series ‘Merriment in Vigarda' must definitely continue in the next season. Information about the performances given in the scope of the Series in the 2017-2018 season will soon be available on Pesti Vigadó's website.
