Ryo Onoki’s Cello Recital

The most successful competitor of the Franz Liszt Seminar, Sapporo

The Japanese cellist studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Thirty years old this year, the artist took part in the Pacific Music Festival in 2007, and was selected to be a member of the Tokyo University of the Arts’ chamber ensemble both in 2010 and 2011.
Ryo Onoki won the special prize at the 10th Viva Hall Cello Competition, and became second at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. He is a member of the XTC Cello Ensemble, and the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra.

Toshihiro Kaneshige, the pianist of the concert, has already performed in a number of European cities. He studied in his native country and in Leipzig. During the 2015–2016 concert season, he performed the solo part of Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in Germany and Portugal.
