Library

The Library of the Hungarian Academy of Arts (HAA) collects, stores and studies written, printed, audiovisual and electronic documents about the history and members of HAA and enables researchers of contemporary art to access such documents.

Mission Statement

By way of traditional means afforded by library-based collection and through the application of the most modern technologies employed for the purposes of library-based collection, the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Arts collects the entire lifeworks of the members of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, irrespective of the media carrying such lifeworks. With the help of this work and by studying the related documents as well as through the structured presentation of the information contained in these documents, the Library intends to create a database that serves both as an information platform containing relevant literature and as a content providing platform concerning contemporary Hungarian arts. With a view to closely observing copyright issues, through these means, the Library makes available, provides and offers for those interested (mainly for researchers) such values of Hungarian culture that are represented by the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
