This exhibition intends to present an aspect of Hungarian architecture that so far has remained hidden in Hungarian space design

By showing designs by Hungarian interior designers, this showcasing displays numerous values of this special field thereby acquainting the general public with the role and importance of interior designers in forming the spaces used by people.

The exhibition provides an overview of changes in capturing and presenting interior designers’ drawing-based visions during the past 70 years (it surveys changes in drawing designs of interior spaces). Concurrently, the showcasing also demonstrates interior designers’ activities in terms of what such specialists actually do in terms of designing living spaces as part of spatial and object design.

Drawing is nothing else but the preservation of the thoughts of a creative mind on paper. With reference to this, interior designers’ range of drawing tools and scale of representation provide the most extensive picture as compared to all design arts. The scope and diversity of this activity spans from capturing the architectural interior space to depicting objects small enough to grasp in one’s hand. This capability of interior design delineates the role of this field as a bridge between architecture and the material world.

Through organising this exhibition, the community of interior designers wishes to contribute to the cultural heritage of Hungarian architecture.
