Exhibition by Barbara Illés-Bódi 'BoBa' - The representative 12+1 piece oil painting series on show at this exhibition portrays characteristic faces and gazes seeking relationships with one another through their temporal and spatial synchronicity and arrangement.

This circumstance exerts a special massive impact on the beholder of this artistic piece: the large-size faces exhibiting intensified emotions prompt beholders to identify with the people on the paintings in cathartic way. This happens irrespective of whether such identification takes place as a reaction to the emanation of the black woman, who is just about to scream to let her tension off, or as a reaction to the feelings of the Cherokee Indian, who is in good strength and is ready to engage in war, or as a reaction to the emotions of the harmonious, balanced and wise Hindu believer. The exhibition portrays our commonly-shared human elemental emotions and thoughts with the help of faces originating from different nations and races, and thus attempts to picture the highest ultimate common denominator of humanity and the highest degree of our humaneness and benevolence.

Even the deepest of our feelings are not exclusively ours: as little as the smallest feelings contribute to the full picture because everything is connected to everything else. In fact, all of us experience the depths of failure and the heights of happiness in all walks of our lives, but at some points we idiosyncratically meet each other, share one another’s happiness or sadness. This exhibition also intends to serve as a good location for such sharing of emotions. The 12+1 piece oil painting series also exhibits an image of Jesus Christ, which helps to elevate the message of the showcasing to the height of a mystery play or even to the level of a prophecy. At the exhibition, the beholders will also become active participants of the creative process, thereby discovering their own true selves and emotions.
