Exhibition of Antoni Doncsev
Born: March 17, 1949
I graduated in 1976 from the Silversmith Department of the Budapest College of Applied Arts. I work in metal sculpture and have a deep passion for forging and shaping heated iron. I enjoy the process of transforming this hard, cold material into something that reflects my vision — even delicate, refined forms can emerge from such a tough medium.
My diploma piece, "Calvary," is a large-scale wrought iron sculpture — my first major artistic achievement — which I was able to realize in the forge workshop of the Óbuda Shipyard. This work earned me a rector’s commendation.
I am grateful to my teachers: József Engelsz, József Pölöskei, and Géza Kertész.
I have exhibited this sculpture in several locations, including Bonyhád, Győr, Oslo, Hagermarsch, and Münster.
When an idea comes to life and receives positive feedback, it always fills me with new energy.
