Lajos Fazekas, ceramist, Master of Folk Art, Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, the founder and authentic master of the black ceramics heritage of Nádudvar. His family, his ancestors have been documented as master potters since the 1700s, so the Master represents a true dynasty of craftsmen.
He is as much an expert in the most traditional techniques and forms as he is in creating works and products that meet 21st century needs, but always preserve his own folk art traditions.
Celebrating his 80th birthday this year, the exhibiting artist's oeuvre is a historical overview, a professional - ceramic art education and a fascinating "feast for the eyes" of folk art. The woven works and laces of her fellow exhibitors, the artists of the Heves Folk Art Association ’Csillagvirág’, complement the ceramics on display in a worthy way, presenting visitors with authentic interiors.
