Concert of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra
Erkel Ferenc Award and Artisjus Lifework Award winning Miklós Malek is associated with numerous big hits and theatrical songs. In the past 25 years, however, he has been active almost exclusively in the field of symphonic music. The genre of the concerto is very close to his heart. Many of his concertos written for wind soloists (e.g. for trumpeters, hornists, trombonists, clarinetists, bassoonists, oboists, flutists) were premiered by the Hungarian Radio Symphonic Orchestra or by its members. Apart from his symphonic pieces, this composer’s evening features some of Miklós Malek’s music for string orchestra (Quo Vadis, Scherzo), and his choir composition for Hungarian poet Attila József’s verse entitled “At the Danube” will also be staged.
