Special instruments, magical melodies

Those who will visit this special concert on this Sunday in July will certainly be exposed to a unique and defining experience as this event draws on thousands of years of music tradition. From adaptations of original folk songs through compositions by emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty of the golden age of Chinese civilisation to film scores, many wonderful melodies will be played on the strings of the pipa and the guzheng.

Founded by Yu Haiying (a teacher of traditional Chinese folk music at Zheijang Conservatory of Music) in 2015, the Ensemble has won several major awards. Following their contribution to the closing concert of the international DULCIMER exhibition, the Ensemble has played a marked role in promoting traditional Chinese instrumental music in their home country. Yu Haiying has studied with the best masters of music and has so far won a total of 20 awards as a performing artist.
