It was precisely one hundred years ago that the jazz age started and it was in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s that the evergreen melodies we so much cherish today were composed. Following World War II, Tamás Bényei and Gramophonia Hot Jazz Orchestra are reviving this tradition in an authentic manner for the first time in Hungary.

The Hungarian scene of classical jazz music is home only to few professional musicians and Gramophonia Hot Jazz Orchestra unites these very special professionals. The core of the Orchestra is constituted by Kossuth Award-winner Hot Jazz Band boasting a successful history of 35 years.

Tamás Bényei and Gramophonia Hot Jazz Orchestra joined by Melody Dance Company, which was specifically formed for this occasion, are inviting their audience to join them in their time travel, and experience the cheerful and joyous mood characterising the jazz age. In this ambience, the New Year’s Eve Concert bids farewell to the year 2021 offering music scores from films starring Hungarian actors Gyula Kabos, Kálmán Latabár and Pál Jávor as well as Hungarian actress Katalin Karády.
