“Saluti dall’Italia!” (Greetings from Italy!) is the title of Honvéd Ensemble Male Choir’s musical evening featuring Italian songs and selected opera pieces. At this concert on 22nd February, the Male Choir will showcase Italy’s musical diversity without imposing any genre boundaries, and the concert will present a true Italian way of life so as to bring a little happiness to our monotonous everyday lives.

In the first half of the two-part concert, – in the company of outstanding soloists – the choir will perform choral pieces and scenes from well-known operas including Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” and Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, as well as the famous piece Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from “Nabucco”. The varied musical excerpts presented at the concert are sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes uplifting and sometimes extremely amusing. The second half of the concert is staged around a lighter genre. Certainly, this musical selection cannot miss Naples’ iconic songs “Santa Lucia”, “Funiculi funicular” and “O sole mio”.

“La vita è troppo corta per non essere felici” as the Italians say: “life is too short not to be happy”. And how right they are! It is almost certain that the music presented at this evening will pay the way for experiencing the dolce vita feeling of life, which will capture everyone.
