Hungarian Symphony Orchestra Miskolc – Contemporary Music Series

This year again, the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra Miskolc continues to stage its contemporary music series in Pesti Vigadó. The concert, which has been held every autumn since 2019, was initiated by artistic director Mátyás Antal. Each evening’s programme focuses on works by two composers. So far, the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra Miskolc has been carrying out its contemporary music mission in Pesti Vigadó partly by giving memorial concerts (in 2019 through staging works by Attila Bozay and Zsolt Durkó; in 2021 through staging works works by Sándor Szokolay and András Szőllősy; and in 2022 through staging works by Sándor Balassa and József Soproni) and partly by staging shorter evening performances featuring works by Hungarian living composers (in 2020: compositions by László Dubrovay and Iván Madarász). The programme of this concert by the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra Miskolc staged on 8th October 2023 features works by Lajos Huszár and László Király and also includes a premiere.
