This Christmas concert by Symphonia Fantasia offers classical music delicacies. Featuring shorter musical pieces in diverse styles, the event stages the most outstanding Romantic pieces, which are made complete with brief musical references and stories narrated by the concert’s conductor. The event introduces its audience to the atmosphere of Paris, St. Petersburg, Prague and Vienna based balls, where elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen used to dance waltzes, polonaises and polkas. The concert will also feature a rarely heard concert aria by Mozart, with a unique piano solo with orchestral accompaniment. A rarely performed romance by Chopin will also be staged, which the composer describes as “a dream on a moonlit spring night”. During the festive season this programme is certain to create an inspiring Christmas atmosphere through a vocal quartet production. And certainly, the singing of a well-known Christmas carol composed for the orchestra will also take place.
