Move, Feel, Change! – A Dance-Based Journey of Self-Discovery at the Pesti Vigadó
"Dance itself is the teacher" (Daniel Lepkoff)
Our movement experiences help us become aware of bodily presence, support growth and change, and deepen self-knowledge.
In our sessions, we work with silence, music, space, the floor, weight-sharing, touch, individual and group exercises. We move with awareness of each other, holding up a “mirror” to one another, and create together as a group.
Movement is the manifestation of the “soul of the body” or the “embodiment of the soul.”
Through contact improvisation, we discover our own dance while moving. In the play of sharing weight and balancing, we must always seek common solutions and pathways, guided by the constant alertness and feedback of our senses.
The spontaneity of movement and the freedom of improvised dance lead us to our true selves; alongside the freedom of movement comes the freedom of choice. Openness to new situations builds self-confidence, while the joy of solving challenges independently strengthens our inner core.
The body’s language - movement and touch - can bring emotions and unprocessed experiences to the surface. Dance and movement therapy means a process of self-discovery through movement, helping us work through difficult relationships, connect with others, and develop authenticity and self-acceptance. It also supports the growth of body awareness, self-image, and self-knowledge.
During the sessions, we become more sensitive to the feedback of our own bodies and senses, as well as to our partner’s signals. This allows us to connect more easily, attune, and resolve conflicts in everyday life.
The session lasts 180 minutes, with two 10-minute breaks.
Please come dressed in comfortable clothing and thick socks.
No prior dance experience is required - only openness and curiosity.
Ticket price: 7000 HUF (includes admission to our current exhibitions).
Please note, that the primary language of the program is Hungarian, but we accept english speaking participants as well, as it is a non-verbal program.
Facilitator: Tímea Györke
