A special album has been published under the title Budapest Stunning, bringing together the enchanting photographs of award-winning photographer Balázs Dániel Harcz and the warmly playful, light-hearted poems written by János Lackfi.
The volume reveals both the familiar and the more hidden faces of Budapest: alongside buildings, gateways, staircases, arches, ceilings and fine architectural details, nature also plays an important role throughout the pages. The unique perspectives of exterior and interior spaces, urban scenes reflected in puddles, and a sensitive interplay of light lend this visual world its distinctive character.
The texts accompanying the photographs do more than merely complement the images—they bring them to life. They populate the city with characters, weave small stories around the scenes, and add new layers to our perception of the Hungarian capital. The poems are presented in both Hungarian and English translation, offering international readers an insight into a lesser-known, poetic side of Budapest.
"I was delighted when Balázs Dániel Harcz approached me to ask whether I would like to make buttons for his vividly coloured, swirling-patterned coat. It is a garment close to my heart, and it was a pleasure to work with it. A true wanderer's cloak that has crossed seven borders, endowed with all kinds of magical properties. It can make its wearer invisible—or suddenly able to see… Budapest is a true magician, and Balázs Dániel Harcz is a worthy apprentice, presenting the metropolis's most astonishing feats with conscientious care, patience and blazing enthusiasm."
— János Lackfi
