Exhibition of Géza Laczák and Ilona Zidarics
The oeuvres of Géza Laczák and Ilona Zidarics unfold at the intersections of metal art, design, and autonomous object-making, revealing the expressive and conceptual potential of metal as a medium.
Géza Laczák’s sculptures, functional objects, and architectural metalworks are rooted in a non-figurative, neo-constructivist approach. His characteristic use of crumpled metal surfaces created through controlled deformation, combined with flame coloring, results in disciplined yet expressive compositions in which abstract forms acquire allegorical meaning.
Ilona Zidarics’s artistic path leads from functional goldsmith objects through geometric abstraction to woven and braided metal jewelry. Her works merge traditional craftsmanship with constructive clarity and archaic references, transforming metal wire into flexible, body-related structures.
Together, the two artists are united by their emphasis on structure, material consciousness, and a shared commitment to abstraction as a means of artistic expression.
