The Research Library collects, preserves, and catalogs written, printed, audiovisual, and electronic materials relating to the history and activities of the Hungarian Academy of Arts (MMA) and its members, and provides access to resources for contemporary art research.

Its aim is to gather the complete oeuvre of MMA academicians in all available formats, using both traditional library methods and the latest techniques; to index these materials and systematize the knowledge they contain; and to build a database that serves as a repository of scholarship. As a key content provider on contemporary Hungarian art, the Library makes these resources available—with full respect for copyright—to researchers and all interested users, presenting the values of national culture represented by the MMA.
