Event of the 13th Open House - Festive Day of Arts
The Pesti Vigadó welcomes its audience with a guest-reception concert beneath the arcades of the historic building. Performing at the event is the Jazz’hog Band, evoking the tradition of manouche jazz—also known as gypsy jazz. The trio, consisting of two guitars and a double bass, brings to life the distinctive sound of the style associated with Django Reinhardt: driving rhythms, virtuosic guitar playing, and improvisational melodies blend with the light elegance of swing.
This short, informal concert greets visitors arriving at the Vigadó and offers a musical prelude to the evening’s programs. The gypsy jazz style, reminiscent of Parisian cafés, creates a unique atmosphere beneath the Danube-side palace arcades, where jazz comes alive in an immediate and intimate form in the heart of Budapest.
