Art Competition for ages 6–18

The Pesti Vigadó announces an art competition for children and young people aged 6–18, titled “Connections.”
What does connection mean to you? Between people? Between past and present? Between nature and the city? The competition invites young creators to express their personal thoughts on the theme through drawing, painting, collage, or photography.
The submitted works will be evaluated by a professional jury composed of members of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
The awarded artworks will be exhibited during the Pesti Vigadó’s Open House event, where an official award ceremony will also take place.
The competition is announced in four age categories:
Category I – Ages 6–9
One artwork may be submitted with a short description (with parental assistance).
Category II – Ages 10–13
One artwork may be submitted with a short description written by the applicant.
Category III – Ages 14–16
One independent artwork may be submitted with a brief concept description.
Category IV – Ages 17–18
One artwork or a series of up to three works may be submitted with a concept statement.
In each age category, First, Second and Third Prizes, as well as Special Prizes, will be awarded.
The submitted works will be evaluated by a professional jury composed of members of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
During the evaluation process, particular attention will be given to the originality of the artworks, the personal interpretation of the theme, and the quality of the visual expression.
The competition welcomes two-dimensional visual artworks in the following categories:
- drawing
- painting
- collage
- photography
The choice of technique is free.

Entries may be submitted in person at the Pesti Vigadó ticket office (during opening hours) or by post.
