Image-Making Without a Camera

In the Képfaragó Workshop, the object of recycling is the image itself—a photograph, a captured moment. We repurpose photographs using simple craft techniques, creating images without a camera. We play with the materiality and the stories embedded in each photo.

“I develop the grain of trees with oil paint, awaken the metro’s draft with tempera, intertwine two golden ratios, zip the twilight over the harbor, embrace the windows of houses with blanket stitch, lull the night to sleep in a daytime tram, and soothe pixel cobblestones into mid-grey.”
