Exhibition of the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Monument Protection Documentation Centre
The new exhibition of the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Monument Protection Documentation Centre (MÉM MDK) pays tribute to Kuno Klebelsberg (1875–1932), one of the most influential figures in 20th-century Hungarian cultural policy. Titled Klebelsberg Mosaic, the exhibition will be on view at the Pesti Vigadó from 26 March to 31 May.
The exhibition was conceived in response to the 1933 memorial exhibition held at the Műcsarnok and offers a fresh perspective on Klebelsberg’s legacy through artefacts from the period.
The focus lies on the cultural network that makes Klebelsberg’s heritage truly comprehensible: individuals, institutions, schools, cultural and educational infrastructures, iconic buildings, and material relics together outline the complex system that continues to shape Hungarian culture and public thought to this day. The exhibition addresses all those interested in how a nation’s cultural identity is formed and which elements of it remain alive in the present.
