Event of the 13th Open House - Festive Day of Arts
The Bartók Dance Ensemble of Budapest is the adult dance company of the Bartók Workshop. Now in its 68th year, the ensemble has been a defining presence in the Hungarian folk dance movement since its founding, regularly achieving success in professional competitions and showcases.
The group’s primary aim is to master folk dance at a “native language” level and present it on stage in an authentic form. Their professional work is characterized by a deep knowledge of authentic folklore, the continuous development of high-level dance technique, and the creation of both folklore-based and dance theatre productions—all rooted in pure, original sources.
The strength and cohesion of the community define the ensemble, forming a bond that unites all its members. Their goal is to represent the Bartók name with dignity wherever their dancers perform.
