Site-specific performance by students of the Hungarian Dance University
Students of the Hungarian Dance University studying contemporary dance frequently take part in performances and improvisations created in a wide range of non-theatrical settings, and site-specific work is also part of their curriculum. The task becomes even more exciting when the space is paired with a guiding concept or an intriguing point of departure.
The spaces of the Vigadó can be particularly inspiring for emerging artists, as well as the question of how they can inhabit and interpret them through the lens of “connection.”
Our starting point remains the same: where are we? What does this space tell us? How does it move us, how does it come alive around us, and who inhabits it at that given moment? Let us see what kind of dance—and above all, what kinds of connections—can emerge from all this…
