Commemorative conference on the 50th anniversary of Gyula Harangozó's death
The conference organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Gyula Harangozó will commemorate his life's work, which occupies an exceptional place in the history of Hungarian ballet. International and Hungarian lecturers will examine Harangozó's individual artistic style and his interpretation of Bartók as a Hungarian. A round-table discussion with ballet artists and a guided tour with a lecture by Gyula Harangozó Jr. will shed light on Harangozó's art from an artist's perspective. The question of archiving dance will also be discussed. The conference will be accompanied by a unique exhibition of Gyula Harangozó's talented costume designs and drawings, as well as costumes for his plays. A surprise awaits the audience at the end of the conference. The event, organised jointly by several artistic institutions, will provide a unique insight into the epoch-making personality of Hungarian ballet and contemporary issues in ballet art.
