The Hungarian Academy of Arts’ new scholarship scheme was launched in 2018, and it offered three years of funded artistic activity for its winners. Out of the 100 scholarship winners selected each year, it is usually 6-7 young photographers who are awarded the excellent opportunity to perform funded artistic work. The scholarships enabling the artists to create the showcased works were granted by the Hungarian Academy of Arts and its Sections for selected talents enrolled in the 2018-2023 period.

Presented in Pesti Vigadó’s 5th floor Exhibition Hall, this showcasing entitled GENERATIONS organised by the Hungarian Academy of Arts’ Section of Film and Photography presents scholarship winners’ works. Visitors will be able see a rich variety of artworks ranging from emotionally charged portraits through picturesque landscapes to special experimental photographs. In addition to a wide range of different artistic solutions in image creation, the exhibition also includes fine examples of documentary photography.

This selection of displayed works by photographers enrolled in the 2018-2023 period aptly reflects and represents the approach and visual sensibility characterising the younger generations of photographic artists.
