C.P.E. Bach's Flute Concerto in D minor was likely composed in the early 1740s, during the time when the young composer was working at the court of King Frederick II of Prussia. The king was a passionate flutist, and as such, particularly enjoyed flute works. This concerto, full of emotional depth and virtuosic melodies, straddles the line between Baroque and Classical music and might be a rearrangement of an earlier harpsichord composition. C.P.E. Bach often released his works in different orchestrations to reach a broader audience.

Max Bruch’s Double Concerto for Violin and Viola (Op. 88) was composed in 1911, in the composer’s later years. At that time, Bruch was still following the traditions of Romantic music, even though the musical world was already turning towards modernism, and his works were receiving less attention. However, Bruch remained true to his melodious, emotionally rich musical language. The composition highlights both the character and tone of each instrument, while emphasizing the dialogue between the violin and viola.

Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 92 in G Major (Hob. I:92), also known as the Oxford Symphony, is a masterpiece of Classical symphonic music. Composed in 1789, it is considered one of Haydn’s last "Parisian symphonies," although it received its name after being performed in 1791 at a ceremony at the University of Oxford, where Haydn was awarded an honorary doctorate. The work perfectly reflects Haydn's humor and creativity, filled with unexpected twists and elegant compositional ideas.

The event is supported by the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
